A common need for teachers is to be able to view their students' work by grading period. Canvas allows users to customize whatever time frame they need, be it 6-week intervals, 9-week intervals, semester intervals, or even more unusual increments. As such, the grading periods first have to be set and associated on the back end of the Canvas. This is typically handled by PLI before you receive your course.
At first, your course may appear to not be set for grading periods. Most likely, it is set up but just isn't yet visible if you're not in the correct view. To activate that grading period view, follow the directions below:
-Click your Grades tab
-Select Grading Periods
-Then you will be able to toggle through several options on the right-hand side of your screen for the various grading periods.
*Please keep in mind that you might need to click the Refresh button if the grades from the selected grading period don't appear automatically. This can happen from time to time if internet connectivity lags.
**Note - if upon performing these procedures, you find that your course does not have grading periods as an option to select, please submit a helpdesk ticket to the Solutions team and this will be addressed for you.
