Lesson plans are a weekly expectation of all Proximity Learning teachers. Lesson Plans are due by Thursday of the week before the lessons are to take place unless otherwise notified by your Teaching and Learning Specialist (TLS).
Lesson plans serve many purposes, but key among them: they serve to help students stay on track with the pace of the course, as well as serve to be a guidepost for substitute teachers to take over at a moment's notice if needed.
How To View Lesson Plans and Find the Lesson Plan Template
To view lesson plans in your Canvas course, begin by clicking on the Modules tab.
Locate the module titled "Lesson Plans," then click the lesson plan for the week that you'd like to view.
*Note-It is the PLI Expectation that the Lesson Plan Module is ALWAYS located as the first Module in that section. Please be sure not to publish the LP Template.
In the event that class is not being held, please note that in your Lesson Plans by writing "No Class Today" and list why: School Closure, District In-service, State Testing, Inclement Weather, etc
To POST my Lesson Plans
At or near the top of your module section you should find the module titled "Lesson Plans." The first entry should be the one labeled "Weekly Lesson Plan Template 22-23". To the right of that, you will click the 3 vertical dots.
Then select Duplicate. This will make a COPY of the same file that you can now "write" over for your new week's lesson plans.
To edit this for your new week, click on the label itself.
Then select EDIT.
When editing the name of the entry, especially for lesson plans, it's important to follow a consistent naming nomenclature. This is where you will enter your lesson plans into the pre-designed template. When finished updating, be sure to click save.
