At Proximity, teachers connect with their students in a virtual classroom. Depending on the district you're assigned, there are a few different ways that you will be able to join your live class. Most PLI courses will utilize the Zoom platform. However, some districts may have classes that use Google Meets or Microsoft Teams.
PLI Connect/Canvas/Zoom
Unless you hear otherwise, this is how you'll join class.
First, log into PLI Connect or log into Canvas.
PLI Connect Login Page: Canvas Login Page:
Click the tile of the course to go to its home page.
There will be a button to click that will bring you to its Zoom tab. It may look like one of the images below.
After you click it, you may immediately join the meeting or see a page like this with a Join button. Click that to join your live class!
Google Meet
If your school uses Google Meet for your virtual classroom, you should be sent information about how to join your class. You may be provided a direct link to the meeting or Google Calendar invite, which you should be able to click to immediately join the meeting when it's being held. If you are provided a meeting code, you can go to Google Meet in your browser or download the app, put in the meeting code, and click Join. Just make sure you're signed into your school account, or whatever account was added to the meeting. Otherwise, you may be blocked, or have to request access from your teacher.
Microsoft Teams
If your school uses Microsoft Teams for your virtual classroom, you'll be provided information about how to set up your account and join your class. In general though, once you sign into your account, you should be able to find and click on the class in your calendar or on the General tab Posts.
