*Please Note- ONLY copy Content Library Materials to your SANDBOX Course*
Also, ONLY copy selected materials from a course, NOT the whole course.
Do NOT copy directly to your live course.
There are numerous unwanted/unintended consequences for copying content into a live course, many of which are irreversible.
Below you will find the steps needed to accomplish the following:
1- Select the content you need by choosing individual assignments/content pieces
2- Copy those individual pieces to your Sandbox course
3- Once you've assembled all the desired contents into your Sandbox course, begin the process of copying those pieces to your respective courses. This way, the Sandbox acts as the main repository of the contents you've copied.
This accomplishes two things: a) it will preserve your copied content for next year, and b) it will prevent you from accidentally importing too much content into a live course which could then, randomly displace and permanently lose certain existing content.
Follow these steps for each content item you intend to Copy:
In the Copy To field, you'll want to capture the Course Code number of the Destination Canvas Course by opening that destination course in a separate tab, then highlighting and copying the digits. Next, paste those digits into the Copy To field. Canvas will locate the exact course for you. Click that course then select COPY.
Repeat these steps as needed for all content you intend to transfer to your Sandbox Course.
